The Owl House follows as the human girl Luz Noceda finds the Demon Realm. She then settles in at the Boiling Isles and befriends the rebellious witch Eda Clawthorne and her roommate King. Luz does not have any magical abilities, but she still pursues her dream of becoming a witch at the Owl House as Eda’s apprentice.
The animated series was created by Dana Terrace. Premiered back in 2019, and even before its premiere, The Owl House was renewed for a 2nd season. Then again before the 2nd season premiered, it was renewed for a 3rd and last season! Sadly, the last season will only have 3 episodes but, we gathered some TV series for you to feast on as you finish watching The Owl House!
1. Disenchantment
Disenchantment is set in the fictional medieval European kingdom called Dreamland. It follows as the rebellious, alcoholic princess Bean, and her mate Elfo alongside Bean’s personal demon Luci takes on adventures! Over the course of four parts, the group explores dreamland and others as they uncover a mythical conspiracy.
It was created by Matt Groening for Netflix. The fourth installment premiered in February 2022! Here is the trailer for season 4 if you’re interested.
2. Ever After High
Ever After High School is located in the Fairy Tale World and it’s a boarding school. The school’s attendees are the teenage children of fairy tale characters. The main characters are Raven Queen and Apple White, the daughters of Evil Queen and Snow White. Raven does not want to follow in her mother’s footsteps, and Apple disagrees with her. So, the school divides into two groups that either side with Apple or Raven. However, there are some other factors that rebellious teenagers do not know that play an important part in their stories…
The animated series was released by Mattel in July 2013. Contrary to Monster High, the story focuses on characters from fairy tales and fantasy stories. There are a total of 68 episodes.
3. Fate: The Winx Saga
Bloom is a fairy with the power of fire. She enrolls at a magical boarding school in Alfea that is located in the Otherworld. She shares her suit with Stella (light fairy), Aisha (water fairy), Terra (earth fairy), and Musa (mind fairy). They become good friends and the girls help Bloom as she starts to learn more about her past. But first, they must fight with the ancient creatures called the Burned Ones as they return and threaten everyone at Alfea.
The series is based on the Nickelodeon animated series “Winx Club”. Fate was developed by Brian Young. Winx Club series creator Iginio Straffi first proposed the offer for a live-action version of the animated series in 2011. But it took a while for it to actually happen. 4. Hilda
Hilda grew up with her mother in a cabin that was located on the edge of the woods in the walled-in city of Trolberg. She’s an 11-year-old girl who goes on different adventures with her friends, the deer fox Twig, Alfur the elf, David, and Frida. There, they interact and befriend mysterious animals, people, and spirits in or around the city of Trolberg.
The animated TV series Hilda is based on the graphic novel series written by Luke Pearson. It first debuted in September 2018 on Netflix as a miniseries. But due to its positive response, it was later renewed for a 2nd season. Later on, Netflix premiered a film titled “Hilda and the Mountain King” in December 2021. There will be a 3rd and final installment to the series! You might like Hilda as much as The Owl House for a very similar plot, enjoy!
5. The Dragon Prince
The fantasy world on the continent of Xadia is rich in magic that is derived from these sources, the Sun, the Moon, the Stars, the Earth, the Sky, and the Ocean. A long time ago, dragons, elves, and humans of the continent lived peacefully. But, the humans, were unable to utilize magic naturally so they began to use dark magic. The consequences were severe, they were exiled to the west, and the continent was split in two.
The Dragon Prince has a very rich story and a very similar one to The Owl House. It was created for Netflix by Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond. There are 3 seasons in total but, the show was renewed for a 4th installment to premiere in November 2022.
6. World of Winx
Here we have another Winx series! This time, we watch as The Winx Club girls return to Gardenia, the hometown of Bloom located on Earth. There, they work as a group of talent scouts on a reality TV program. Their job is to find children and teenagers of various talents. But behind the scenes, they try and save them from getting kidnapped by a Talent Thief.
World of Winx is an Italian animated TV series, also a spin-off to Winx Club. It consists of 2 seasons and 26 episodes. You can catch all episodes on Netflix!
