Will Better Things Return For A Season 6? – Is it Renewed or Canceled?

Better Things just released the first two episodes of its final season on February 28, the other episodes will be released every Monday until the 25th of April, which will be the show’s season finale. Although only 2 episodes of Better Things Season 5 have been released, everyone is already wondering is there going to be a Season 6 of the show, and if so, when will FX be releasing it?

Better Things follows a single mom who tries to raise her three daughters while trying to make it in Hollywood as an actress. We see the character also trying to look after her mother who lives right across the street from her.

What To Expect From Better Things Season 5?

Unfortunately for the fans of the comedy/drama, Season 5 will only have 10 episodes. The names of the first 5 episodes are already known, as shown on the series’ IMDB page. Already released first two episodes are called, F*ck Anatoly’s Mom and Rip Taylor’s Cell Phone. The other three episodes are named as follows, Oh, I’m Not Gonna Tell Her (ep. 3), Ephemera (ep. 4), and The World Is Mean Right Now (ep. 5). The names of the remaining 5 episodes are not released yet.

According to the official synopsis and the trailer for season 5, our protagonist Sam Fox, played by the incredible Pam Adlon, will try to get in touch with her past more and find out about the history of her family tree. She will also leave her dreams of becoming a director aside and go back to being an actress. We will be seeing how playing roles she does not want will affect Sam’s well-being and we will also be witnessing the change in the lives of Sam’s three daughters, Max, Frankie, and Duke (played by Mikey Madison, Hannah Riley, and Olivia Edward).

Unfortunately, Better Things Season 5 will be the final season of the series, as it was repeatedly told by both FX and the series’ official Twitter account. The reason for this upsetting news is unknown, so believe the creators did what they thought was right for the story of Sam Fox and her daughters.

We were quite happy when FX renewed the show for the fifth season right after the release of season 4, although the shootings were delayed a few times because of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, we finally came together with the new episodes which were released last Monday. Despite knowing we will be watching these characters for the last time, we know the final season is going to be satisfying as it received a rating of 100 from 10 critics at Rotten Tomatoes.

Like we already mentioned, there will be no season 6 of Better Things, as FX and Pam Adlon, who plays the main character and is also one of the creators of the show, announced a few times that season 5 will be the final season of the series. So, we only have the rest of season 5 to say goodbye to our favorite characters who have been with us in the last 4 seasons.
