Let’s see if they’ll get it!
Five Days at Memorial Season 2 Release Date
Five Days at Memorial Season 2 is greatly anticipated by viewers. Season 1 brought huge success to Apple TV+, and everybody expects Season 2 to be even more successful (should there be one). As of September 2022, there hasn’t been a renewal for the series. Because the series was created as a miniseries centering around the events that took place in the Memorial Medical center following the flood.
However, if there’ll be a renewal, fans could expect the return of Five Days at Memorial to be around somewhere in 2023. Because it takes Apple to announce renewals several months, there’s nothing we can do but wait. We will update you with any new information.

Is the show Five Days at Memorial based on a true story?
The miniseries Five Days at Memorial is based on the book of the same name written by Sheri Fink. The author was also heavily involved with adapting her work to the screens. Other than her brilliant book, Fink had a mountain of other resources and research at her hand. The photographs she had, helped the design team to really capture the mood at the hospital during Hurricane Katrina.
Hurricane Katrina was a Category 5 Atlantic hurricane, and it occurred in late August 2005, mainly in the city of New Orleans. The hurricane caused flooding around New Orleans and caused the majority of the loss of lives. Almost %80 of the city was inundated for weeks. Journalist Sheri Fink detailed the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina within Memorial Medical Center.
The book is essentially an expansion of her article published in New York Times Magazine, and it won her a Pulitzer Prize. There were many rumors surrounding the events that took place in the hospital. One of them was, that the triage system put into place at the hospital had medical staff euthanize critically ill patients that were too sick to be moved or treated.
All of this was brought to screens in Five Days at Memorial. However, it was first set to be the basis of the FX true crime series American Crime Story. The idea was later scrapped and Apple TV+ adapted the book into a miniseries.
