The South Korean TV series Extraordinary Attorney Woo follows a young lawyer with autism. Her unique memory helps her to remember details that win her cases. In the title role, we see Park Eun-bin as Woo Young Woo, and alongside her, we watch Kang Tae-oh as her romantic partner.
The series breaks down barriers stating that autistic people have barriers that separate them from doing stuff “normally”. Airing on ENA (also on Netflix), Extraordinary Attorney Woo premiered in July 2022. After the successful first season, viewers have been wondering when the 2nd season would air, or if would it happen at all. Heads up! Spoilers ahead for those of you who didn’t watch the entire season! So, as the show came to an end, we know that Young Woo and Jun Ho broke up, Min Woo received a confession of Su Yeon’s feelings and sadly, Myung Seok has been diagnosed with stage 3 stomach cancer.
Young Woo’s life is turned upside down on quite short notice, and she’s forced to work under Jang, who’s known for his bad temper. While working on the Roan Platform’s hacking case, Jang and Woo don’t see eye to eye. While trying to help solve the case, Woo’s behavior comes out as rude to Jang. After that, Woo gets yelled at by Jang repeatedly and ends up being taken off the case while trying to solve everything with the help of a technicality.
Everything and everybody seem to be against Young Woo, and she feels helpless. However, her colleagues decide to against their seniors and defend their client with Woo’s statement. They manage to reduce the Roan Platform’s penalty, but they still need to find the hacker. The hacker is revealed to be Sang Hyeon, Woo’s stepbrother.
Hyeon soon confesses what he did to Woo, but she can’t use his confession. Young Woo then receives a job offer from Boston. This leaves Young Woo with 2 options but she has trouble understanding why she has to change her life because of a person, and their desire to reveal her true identity. Soon, Young Woo tries to solve everything and evidently succeeds. Thus we can all take a deep breath after avoiding such a tragic ending!
