After Matt Murdock (Daredevil) appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker’s lawyer, fans have been going crazy over the possibility of a Daredevil Season 4. Although the show was doing great when its 3rd season was released, it was not renewed for another season, which made everyone, including the cast and the crew, become really upset over the news.
The show had amazing 3 seasons, the last of which aired in October 2018 on Netflix. However, even when the show ended, Marvel tried to ease fans by saying Daredevil will be appearing in the future projects of Marvel. This turned out to be true when we saw him in the last Spider-Man movie at the end of 2021. We also saw the villain from Daredevil, The Kingpin, appearing in another Marvel feature: Hawkeye mini-series that aired on Disney+.
These 2 appearances gave most fans a lot of hope, as they saw that Marvel was not done with Daredevil and his most powerful villain. So, a variety of rumors has been flying about for the last few months about the continuation of the Daredevil series and fans are rightly wondering if their favorite characters and actors going to be returning for a possible Daredevil project. Well, we have all the answers! Here is everything you need to know about the future of Daredevil Season 4.
Daredevil Season 4 Release Date
A few days after the release of No Way Home, Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, was reported saying that Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox, will definitely be returning for future projects. We were relieved to hear such comforting news but the president did not seem to be giving any more clues about the details of a possible project. Is there going to be Daredevil Season 4 or is our vigilante going to be appearing in an entirely new project? All we know for sure is that both fans and the producers at Marvel love Charlie Cox and Kevin Feige himself confirmed that Cox will be playing any future portrayals of Daredevil.
Yet, there was also a recent leak about Marvel developing a new Daredevil series. The rumors have started from the fact that Marvel has recently started a limited liability company (LLC) which was named Blind Faith Productions LLC. This naming could not be a cheekier reference to Daredevil who is, well, blind and has a lot of unresolved issues regarding his faith and morals. We should also point out that these are all rumors and no link was actually confirmed between this company and a Daredevil series. But we cannot stop hoping for a Daredevil Season 4.
As for a possible release date, since there is no official confirmation for the return of the series, we are not expecting the series to come back in 2022. If the rumors are true and the production and the filming actually start this year, then we can hope to see the 4th season as early as 2023.
Daredevil cast
Among the cast members, we only know the definite return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil. Here are the other characters and the cast members who appeared and left their impact in all 3 seasons of Daredevil, and whose return for Daredevil Season 4 we are impatiently waiting:
- Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk (The Kingpin): a powerful crime lord who has his own ambitions and goals regarding the future of Hell’s Kitchen (the same neighborhood where Daredevil lives and acts as a lawyer/vigilante).
- Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page: A young woman who seeks justice and gets involved in Matt Murdock’s life.
- Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson: He is Matt Murdock’s law partner and best friend.
- Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple: She is a nurse who helps Murdock with his injuries.
- Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios: She is a mysterious ex-lover of Murdock’s and has complicated motives.
- Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher: The famous vigilante who also wants to rid Hell’s Kitchen of crimes but with different motives and morals.

What happened in Daredevil Season 3?
Daredevil Season 3 starts with Matt Murdock being found by a taxi driver after a building collapsed on him in the 2nd season’s finale. The driver is able to take Murdock to Father Paul Lantom who entrusts her to a sister in an orphanage where Murdock goes through a crisis of fate and decides whether or not he should be continuing as a vigilante. In the end, we see him continue as a crime-fighting hero.
The season’s main villain is The Kingpin who knows, from the early moments of the season, Murdock’s dual identity. The season finale sees the enemies make a pact as they are both worried that something bad will happen to their loved ones. The pact is: Murdock is not going to do something to Vanessa, Kingpin’s love interest, while he is in jail, and Kingpin is not going to hurt Karen and Foggy in return.
The season ended there, after a 13-episode-long fight between Kingpin and Murdock, we saw the villain finally going back to prison and Matt continuing to protect the streets of Hell’s Kitchen.
Is Daredevil on Netflix?
Along with the other Marvel series like Luke Cage, The Defenders, and Punisher, Daredevil too was removed from Netflix at the beginning of March 2022. Daredevil and the other Marvel series will be released again on Disney+ on March 16, 2022.
