K. Rowling is a British novelist for her seven-book fantasy series Harry Potter. A young wizard named Harry Potter and his companions Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, are featured in the novels. The central plot is around Harry’s battle with Lord Voldemort, an evil wizard who wants to become immortal, overturn the Ministry of Magic, and rule over all wizards and Muggles (non-magical people).

Daniel Radcliffe
Daniel Radcliffe is most recognized for his role as Harry Potter, the series’ main character who discovers he is a wizard on his eleventh birthday. One of Radcliffe’s earliest acting roles was in “The Tailor of Panama” (2001), which he appeared in alongside Pierce Brosnan and Jamie Lee Curtis and was published just several months before “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” (2001).
Following the conclusion of the series, Radcliffe featured in “The Woman in Black” (2012), “Kill Your Darlings” (2013), and “What If” (2013). Later, he portrayed the dog walker in Judd Apatow’s “Trainwreck” (2015), costarred as Igor alongside James McAvoy in “Victor Frankenstein” (2015), and took on the role of Manny in “Swiss Army Man” (2016).
Emma Watson
Hermione Granger, portrayed by Emma Watson, was Ron and Harry’s best friend and the best witch in her class. Additionally, Watson’s first acting role was in “Sorcerer’s Stone.” Between “Harry Potter” production, Watson voiced a character in “The Tale of Despereaux” and had an appearance in “Ballet Shoes” (2007).
She earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature in 2014. Watson acted in several well-known movies while still in school, including “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” (2012), “My Week with Marilyn” (2011), and “The Bling Ring” (2013). In the apocalyptic comedy “This Is the End,” starring Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Watson also appeared as herself in 2013. The English actress played Belle in the Disney live-action adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast” in 2017, and in Greta Gerwig’s “Little Women” in 2019, she was a part of the ensemble cast.
Rupert Grint
The youngest son of the Weasley family and Ron Weasley’s best friend at Hogwarts was portrayed by Rupert Grint. It was Grint’s first acting role in “Sorcerer’s Stone.” The English actor participated in a few movies while filming the series, including “Cherrybomb” (2009).
Grint had an appearance in Ed Sheeran’s “Lego House” music video. Grint made his stage debut in the 2013 West End production of “Mojo” and then costarred with Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane in the 2014 Broadway production of “It’s Only a Play” in a significant role. Grint has recently had success on television thanks to parts in the shows “Sick Note” on Netflix, “Snatch” on Crackle, and “Servant” on Apple TV Plus.
Tom Felton
Tom Felton, an English actor, played the bully at Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy. Felton made a few film appearances before playing Malfoy, including “Anna and the King” (1999). While “Harry Potter” was being filmed, in the films “The Disappeared” (2008), “Get Him to the Greek” (2010) he also had parts.
Felton played a different villain in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” (2011) after “Harry Potter” was finished. The actor reconnected with his costars on the HBO reunion special and made an appearance on an episode of the TBS quiz program “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses.” Felton recently acted in the movies “Burial,” “Canyon del Muerto,” and “Save the Cinema” (2022).
Alan Rickman
Severus Snape, the Hogwarts Potions professor, was portrayed by Alan Rickman. He is renowned for being one of the series’ most challenging characters.
Rickman kept acting after the movies were finished, appearing in “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” (2013), “CBGB” (2013) with Grint, and “Eye in the Sky” (2015). At 69, Rickman passed away from pancreatic cancer in January 2016.
Matthew Lewis
Neville Longbottom, played by Matthew Lewis, was a character in the “Harry Potter” movies.
When Lewis posed in his underpants for Attitude magazine in 2015, he proved to the world that he was an adult. After “Harry Potter,” Lewis continued to perform in movies, including “Me Before You” (2016) and “Terminal” (2018).
Evanna Lynch
Irish actress Evanna Lynch portrays eccentric Luna Lovegood. The character does not appear until “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” Lynch’s debut acting role, released in 2007.
She played Luna in the 2013 production of “A Very Potter Senior Year” by StarKid Productions, which starred Darren Criss. Lynch took third place in her “Dancing With the Stars” competition in 2018.
Bonnie Wright
Wright portrayed the Weasley family’s eldest (and sole daughter). She also had appearances in the 2013 films “After the Dark” and “Before I Sleep” as well as a 2018 adaptation of “A Christmas Carol.”
Robbie Coltrane
Robbie Coltrane as Rubeus Hagrid, the endearing half-giant professor of magical creature care and gamekeeper at Hogwarts. He most recently appeared in the four-part British drama miniseries “National Treasure” (2016) on Channel 4. For the HBO reunion special, Coltrane also made a comeback. At age 72, the actor passed away.
