Salma Hayek Pinault, born September 2, 1966, in Mexico City, is a Mexican-American actress and producer. She made her acting debut in the Mexican telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) and the romantic drama El Callejón de Los Milagros (1995), for which she was nominated for an Ariel Award. She quickly rose to prominence in Hollywood, appearing in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), and Dogma (2001).
Salma Hayek Jiménez was born in the Mexican city of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. Sami Hayek Domnguez, her father, is of Lebanese descent. His ancestors are from the Lebanon city of Baabdat, which In 2015, Salma and her father came to promote her movie Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet. His firm sells industrial equipment and works for an oil company in Mexico; he once ran for mayor of Coatzacoalcos.
